As February rolls through bringing the chill along with it,
I think of the sunshine, hoping winter would just quit it.
I like the first cold days of November and December,
but hate the lingering effects of February’s long winter.
The tired grey skies bring snow from time to time,
Keeps me thinking I’m in Georgia and I’ve got spring on my mind.
So Go! February Go! And take the cold air along with you,
And this meloncholy feeling so long I won’t miss you.
As I look to the future, pollen and leaves on the trees,
The lovely smell of spring rain, the birds and the bees.
But until those days arrive I keep good thoughts at the center,
Lamenting the fact that I’m tired of Winter.

Today I heard the best thing I heard all week. I had been on my students’ cases about learning their times tables. Well today they asked me for a quiz. When I asked why, the class said, “We Studied”. That was music to my ears.

Progress reports will go out this week. Also the class will be needing hand sanitizer as the winter months approach. Contrary to popular belief, it is not the teacher’s job to supply everything. Parents should purchase hand sanitizer and paper for their children.

The thought for the week : If you are helping your children you will be aware of their difficulties.
